COMBINE 2019 Code of Conduct

COMBINE 2019 Code of Conduct

This Code of Conduct is to be upheld at all events held at or organized by the Heidelberg Institute for Theoretical Studies (HITS).

Code of Conduct

The COMBINE 2019 meeting is dedicated to providing a welcoming, safe and productive environment for all who attend our event, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age or religion. We do not tolerate any form of intimidation, harassment, or disrespectful conduct at our events.

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments and inappropriate or demeaning language related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion. It also includes aggressive behavior of any kind and unwanted physical contact. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. The rule applies to any harassment towards other participants as well as the organizing team.

If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the event organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the event (without reimbursement). If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, contact an event organizing team immediately.

This anti-harassment policy is based on the example policy from the Geek Feminism wiki, created by the Ada Initiative and other volunteers.
